Cut string stairs with Walnut treads & risers

This ultra modern cut-string stairs has square nosed walnut treads & risers. The client requested that there would be no overhang of the treads on the newel string side and a concealed string with a shadow gap at the wall string (a gap between the stairs and wall). 

They used walnut square chamfered newel posts with tapered heads and red deal square chamfered balusters. Painting the red deal components white creates a striking contrast with the dark shade of the walnut.
